Jason Ingram was
born in Durham, NC. He received the B.A. in Government from
Dartmouth College in 1996, the M.A. in Communication from UNC-Chapel
Hill in 1999 and the Ph.D. in Communication from the University of
Southern California in 2003. Dr. Ingram's research interests are
in rhetorical and cultural studies, particularly the application of
political philosophy to the study of communication by analyzing works
in popular culture from a rhetorical perspective. For example,
his dissertation examines the conceptions of virtue and models of
subjectivity embedded in influential narratives such as liberalism,
Marxism, psychoanalysis and contemporary renderings of Homer's
Odyssey.
