A Message from Dr. Ken Zagacki
With every graduating class, we celebrate the accomplishments of our students, both what you have done here, and in anticipation of what you will do in the months and years to come.
Your unique experiences as students in our department contribute to a larger story about our past, present and future. We hope your will continue to contribute to our unfolding history. To help ensure this can happen, I ask you to consider supporting our mission in a few ways.
Spotlight on Scholarship Donors
Scholarship Donations Make a Difference
Sharita Whitaker (Communication '07), a past recipient of the Rebecca and Ruth Leonard Scholarship, is now an attorney at Smith Anderson in Raleigh. She recently attended a college scholarship luncheon, where she and Professor Emerita Leonard caught up with each other.
As an alumnus, you can sustain your connection with us. Contact us with your ideas on ways to enrich the experiences of our students. You can contribute financially to the Department of Communication Enhancement Fund that supports many departmental needs when state funding is unavailable for use, or does not exist. You can support one of our departmental scholarships, listed on our website, or create a new scholarship recognizing one of our graduates.
Please also consider creating an internship position at your place of business. Students would not only receive course credit and earn needed income, but also gain valuable experience and add skills as they step into the job market. To offer an undergraduate opportunity, please contact Mr. Dean Phillips; for master’s-level internship positions, speak with Dr. Joann Keyton.
We invite you stay current about our projects and other news. Like us on Facebook; follow us on Twitter; check our home page regularly. And please, come to Communication or other campus events whenever possible. You are always welcome here.
If I can answer any questions or provide details about the work of the department, please contact me.
