Communication Summer Camp
July 17-21, 2017
This fully authorized, Pre-College Program of North Carolina State University is designed for rising junior and senior high school students interested in learning about television production and presentational speaking. Department of Communication professors, lecturers, and staff with years of real-world broadcasting experience provide personalized training. This week-long day camp held in a broadcast-quality television studio on the NC State campus.
CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
Camp registration enrollment is limited to 14 campers. The official registration period opened MARCH 14, 2017 and will remain open until all seats are filled. A wait list will be created after 14 students have registered. At this time payment in full is due with the return of the registration packet. Wait-listed students will be notified by June 30th if a spot becomes available.
Ask your child’s teacher / school administrator for a recommendation to attend COM Camp using the form on Page 2 of the Parent’s Camp flyer (PDF: 904 kb). Once the Camp Administrator receives a the Recommendation Voucher from your school, a registration packet will be emailed to you (see the menu items on the left for full information).

When the studio lights switched on in the Butler Communication Building television studio on July 6, they lit more than just sets. They helped fire the imaginations, and enlighten the educational goals, of ten high school students participating in the first ever Communication Summer Camp.
