
Accelerated Bachelor’s-Master’s in Communication
Earn both your B.A. and M.S. degrees in communication in five years.
Program Overview
Our accelerated bachelor’s-master’s (ABM) degree program allows undergraduate students to work toward a bachelor’s and master’s degree at the same time.
Interested students must complete the NC State Graduate School’s standard application for admission. Also, students who complete the honors program in conjunction with the ABM program must take three 500-level courses to complete the honors program.
ABM Requirements
To earn admission to the ABM program, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 75 credit hours in the B.A. in communication program.
- Note: Transfer students must complete a minimum of two semesters (at least 24 credit hours) as a full-time student at NC State.
- Complete core requirements for the B.A. and at least three additional communication courses with a minimum major GPA of 3.5. At least one of those additional courses should be at the 300 or 400 level.
- Have a minimum total grade point average of 3.5 at NC State.
