Dr. Matt May to speak
Dr. Matthew S. May has recently been competitively selected as a Distinguished Speaker for the Ubuntu: I am, because you are speaker series in Harrelson Hall, Room 107 at 5 p.m., Wednesday, February 5.
Dr. May will speak on how the theme of this series, Ubuntu: I am, because you are, prompts a consideration of how new technologies connect humans together in ways that profoundly change the way in which we communicate and inhabit the world together. His presentation, ‘Rhetoric (Remixed)’ demonstrates how the classical theories and practices of rhetoric in ancient Greece and Rome can deepen our understanding of human interconnection and cultural evolution.
