What We Offer
Our department offers a B.A. in Communication. You’ll pick from one of three concentrations:
- Communication media
- Interpersonal, organizational and rhetorical communication
- Public relations
You’ll take courses that align with your goals and interests and find rich opportunities and engage in hands-on experiences such as internships, study abroad and undergraduate research.
Honors students can also pursue an M.S. in Communication through our accelerated bachelor’s-master’s in communication.

Student Organizations
Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
The goal of PRSSA is to serve members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities, as well as to serve the public relations profession by helping to develop highly qualified, well-prepared professionals. They work to foster an understanding of current theories and procedures of the profession; appreciation of the highest ethical ideals and principles and more.
Lambda Pi Eta — National Communication Honor Society
Lambda Pi Eta at NC State is an active chapter of the National Communication Honor Society. Selection is based on outstanding academic performance, and the club strives to promote excellence in the communication field while reaching out to the community. We offer community service, professional networking, and enriching academic experiences to our members.
