A Message from Lambda Pi Eta

Fellow LPHers,

We hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy during this time of uncertainty and turmoil. We wanted to touch base with you and provide a few updates regarding LPH, especially since COVID-19 disrupted many of our Spring activities (e.g., elections, inductions, etc). We will be giving out your pins and certificates when we are able to meet again and we invite you to be recognized at our Spring 2021 induction ceremony, should you be able to attend.

In regards to graduation cords (research and service), we will be distributing these in-person prior to our postponed commencement ceremony. While we do not yet know when the “make-up” graduation will be, we will have an opportunity for you to collect your cords beforehand.

Additionally, we recognize that we did not have an opportunity to hold elections for our 2020-2021 executive board. To ensure a fair election, we have decided to postpone elections until the first general body meeting of the Fall 2020 semester. More information regarding this will be sent out towards the end of the summer as we finalize the details of this meeting; please keep in mind that you must be present at the meeting to run for an officer position.

Finally, we want to congratulate all of our graduating members; even though this is certainly not the way that any of us expected your time at NC State to end, we cannot express how proud we are of you to have taken on this unexpected challenge with that NC State Think-and-Do attitude. As you’re aware, we often have alumni come share their experiences with us about life as a communication expert in the professional world. We would appreciate it if you would fill out this form so that we may keep in touch with you about potential networking events, opportunities to speak to future members, and at the very least know what’s in store for you. Whatever you find yourself doing next, we hope that you take the lessons you’ve learned here as a Communication major and thrive.

We hate that we don’t get a proper goodbye, but we truly cannot wait to see you this upcoming fall semester. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of our board members with questions or concerns that you may have. Thank you for your time, and we hope to see you soon. Stay healthy!

All the best,

The 2019-2020 LPH Executive Board
